Case Study: Recruiting and Hiring
Cook Museum of Natural Science worked with Horizon Point Consulting, Inc. in an effort to develop strong human resource practices and tools. Prior to opening, Horizon Point assisted with several items including membership development design, development of standard operating procedures, development of training curriculum as well as recruitment.
To ensure the museum was well-staffed with quality candidates, Horizon Point provided ongoing posting, sourcing, screening, and offered support for approximately 75 positions and more than 100 volunteer positions for the museum.
Horizon Point managed the Museum’s ATS system by deploying job openings and screening applicants. Horizon Point passed qualified candidates along to hiring managers for interviewing and helped facilitate the scheduling of interviews when needed. Horizon Point assisted with hiring blitzes and provided advice related to candidate selection. Horizon Point also designed the Museum’s onboarding process and customer service training. Both were delivered by Horizon Point to new hires for the start-up.
Horizon Point continues to maintain a relationship with the Museum and looks forward to future opportunities to partner with them.
Cook Museum’s Senior Director of Administration, Mark Wallace, had this to say about Horizon Point Consulting:
“With their innovative approach to employee engagement, Horizon Point Consulting became a key partner in helping us develop all aspects of our talent management practices, basing everything we created in the organization’s values. We would not have been able to scale our team and prepare new employees to open the Museum in 2019 without Horizon Point’s assistance!”
